La Esperanza – Cordilla Dorsal – Bosque de la Esperanza
The Teide Shore Excursion will start at La Esperanza . Brian May, Queen’s lead guitarist, described it as “My favorite heavenly place in the world.” La Esperanza is located at the start of the island’s Cordilla Dorsal ridge.
La Esperanza is the gateway to the largest forest of the island – Bosque de la Esperanza. This is a forest full of Canary pines and eucalyptus which can reach a height of 40 meters. After your visit, La Esperanza may become your favorite heavenly place in the world too.
Teide National Park – Mount Teide
Next, the Teide Shore Excursion will arrive to Teide National Park , a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mount Teide is a dormant volcano: it’s the highest point in Spain and the third largest volcano in the world.
The Teide National Park has been a protected zone since 1954. The drive up to the Teide National Park is an experience in itself. Infact you will drive trough Alpine scenery and tons of wildlife. About half way up the terrain abruptly transforms into a surreal, lunar-like landscape.
The weather here can be dramatically different from the rest of the island. Infact it changes from freezing temperatures in the winter and hot summers.
Vilaflor – Reveron
Next stop of the Teide Shore Excursions is Vilaflor, at an altitude of 1,400 m. This is the highest village in Tenerife and is the location of one of the island’s most exclusive wineries, Reveron, where will have the opportunity to taste local products (tapas, cheeses, meats) along with their delicious local wine.
After this fascinating visit to the winery, we will go to Costa Adeje in the heart of Tenerife, we will take a walk on Paseo Maritimo while enjoying the warm sun and drink a typical Canarian Barraquito.
Candelaria – Basilica de Nuestra Senora de Candelaria
Afterwards, we will arrive in Candelaria, a delightful little fishing village. Here we will visit the cathedral and home to the patron saint of the Canary archipelago, the Basilica de Nuestra Senora de Candelaria. This is the location of the first shrine dedicated to Mary on the Canary Islands.
We recommend that you bring comfortable but not too light clothing. Bring an extra jacket.
