Pico del Teide Tour (advance booking)

Itinerary
At least 30days notice is required prior to booking this excursion. This is the time needed to reserve the cable car and get the permit from the “National Park” to access “Pico del Teide” at 3718 meters. The access to “Pico del Teide” is allowed only if authorized and accompanied by a “specialized guide” designated by the park authority. Under the 30 days’ notice you can still make the same excursion but up to 3550 meters, and will not be able to visit Pico del Teide.
Since the tickets are booked for an exact time, delays are not allowed or you will lose the opportunity to carry out the excursion. These times will be agreed upon the booking phase.
A minivan will pick you up from your hotel preferably early in the morning around 8 am to drive up directly on cable car stations “montana blanca”, with the “funiculare” we will move from 2300 to 3550 mt on the sea level, from here we need to walk and reach the “Pico del Teide”, after this unforgettable experience, having reached 3718 meters, we will resume our itinerary with a visit to the Roques de Garcia where a description of its formation will be given, followed by a coffee break at the Hotel Parador and a tour of Vilaflor where we will stop at the Pino Gordo, the oldest tree in the island with its 45 meters high and 10 in diameter.
From here we will proceed to the winery for a tasting, served with a variety of Tapas, vegetables, meats and cheeses characteristic of the local Canarias cuisine. Upon reservation it is possible to reserve a complete typical tasting (not included in the cost), which will be served by expert sommeliers.
As last stop, at the Aloha Park Arona, we will visit the fields and the laboratories where specialized staff will give a technical presentation.
The return to the hotel is scheduled in the afternoon after 3 pm.
Buzanada – Aloe Park
This Tenerife Tour will leave in the morning from your hotel in Tenerife South. We will head to Buzanada to visit Aloe Park (formerly known as Jardines de Atlantico). The park has 40,000 meters of aloe.
Here we can also admire its “finca”, a farm surrounded by beautiful plantations of bananas and aloe vera. Infact you can find many varieties of fruit trees (oranges, papaya, avocado etc.). Moreover, you can also admire the traditional animals of the “finca” like camels, donkeys, goats and ducks.
Finally, we will conclude the visit with a tasting at the park bazaar.

San Miguel de Abona – Granadilla – Vilaflor – Gordo Pine

From here we drive to San Miguel de Abona. Then the Teide Tour will continue to Granadilla and from there go up to Vilaflor at an altitude of 1,400 m. Vilaflor is the highest village in Tenerife.
Here the Tenerife Excursions will make a brief stop to see the Gordo Pine. This is the largest specimen of the Canary Islands, with a height of 45 meters.
Teide National Park – Mount Teide
Finally the Teide Tour arriva at Teide National Park, UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mount Teide is a dormant volcano. It’s the highest point in Spain and the third largest volcano in the world. The Teide National Park has been a protected zone since 1954.
The drive up to the Teide National Park is an experience in itself. Indeed, along the way you can admire Alpine scenery and tons of wildlife. About half way up the terrain abruptly transforms into a surreal, lunar-like landscape.
The weather here can be dramatically different from the rest of the island too. Infact in the winter you can encounter freezing temperatures and snowfall. While in the summer however, temperatures are more consistent with the rest of the island, at around 30-40 °C.

Retamar – Islands El Hierro – La Gomera – La Palma

Next, we will make a brief stop in Retamar. This is a vantage point from which you can admire breathtaking views of the islands El Hierro, La Gomera, and La Palma.
Las Canadas del Teide – Los Roques – Pico del Teide
Afterwards the Tenerife Day trip will head towards Las Canadas del Teide. We will visit the volcanic rock formations of Los Roques and be enchanted by the majestic view of the Pico del Teide. The result of erosion of an ancient volcanic dyke, Los Roques is one of the most well known geologic features on Tenerife’s Mount Teide.

Verdo del Teleferico Teide – Pico del Teide

From here we head to Verdo del Teleferico Teide to get the cable car that will take us to reach the Pico del Teide.
For this Tenerife excursion you are required to make reservations and payment in advance. This is in order to reserve the cable car tickets.
Mouth of the volcano
In addition, to visit the mouth of the volcano, it is also mandatory to reserve the specialist guide who will accompany visitors to the volcano.
For these services you will need to book at least two weeks in advance to receive all of the necessary permits.

Wine and Food tasting in Vilaflor

During the Teide Tour return journey to the hotel we will stop again in Vilaflor. Here we will visit one of the most exclusive wineries to taste local products (tapas, cheeses, meats) and taste the delicious local wine.

We recommend that you dress in layers, the wind is strong at 3500 meters, there will be wind and it will be cold, bring trousers and trekking shoes.

The cost is 18 euro per person, the menu changes according to the products available.
Yes unfortunately the times for the cable car are fixed and cannot be changed unless a 48 hour notice is given. Regarding the permit for the Pico del Teide that cannot be changed.
Within 72 hours you will be able to recover the total of the amount paid for the excursion, the cost of the cable car will not be reimbursed but you can use it whenever you wish, the tickets are personal.
